Founded in Switzerland in 2010 by former professional athlete Olivier Bernhard alongside David Allemann and Caspar Coppetti, On. was created to redefine the sensation of running. Bernhard wanted a shoe that felt soft on impact but explosive on takeoff. The solution became CloudTec® — a cushioning system that propelled On. from an Alpine startup into one of the fastest-growing performance footwear brands in the world.
The brand is often referred to as On Running or On Cloud, but the official name remains simply: On. Minimal. Direct. Engineered.
A major chapter in the brand’s rise came when Roger Federer joined as both investor and design collaborator. His involvement strengthened On.’s bridge between elite performance sport and refined lifestyle footwear, giving the brand cultural reach far beyond the track.
