Kelowna Streetwear & Shoe Store: Todd Daniels’ Story and the Rise of a Curated Boutique
The Story Behind Gallery Streetwear
The story starts in Kelowna.
I grew up in Kelowna and graduated from Okanagan Mission Secondary (OKM). I was an avid skateboarder and later a professional snowboarder who lived all over Europe, New Zealand, the United States, and Whistler chasing the lifestyle I loved.
Before streetwear even had a name, I was already living it — skating every spare minute, riding at Big White Ski Resort, and searching for product that felt authentic.
I rode for Island Snow's first skateboard and snowboard teams, which gave me a front-row seat to real shop culture: tight crews, independent stores, and the excitement of discovering something special. Customers exploring the newest products arriving in-store can browse the latest pieces in New Arrivals.
Roots in Skateboarding and Snowboarding Culture
Those early years turned into decades working in skateboarding, snowboarding, and streetwear. In Kelowna I worked in, managed, and helped start Deviate Board Shop and One Boardshop. Living and traveling abroad shaped my perspective on what a great shop should be.
Boutiques in Europe, New Zealand, the United States, and Whistler all shared something important: they were personal, they were curated, and they were built around community. That philosophy became the blueprint for Gallery Streetwear. Customers interested in global skate brands can explore the Streetwear Collection.
Why I Opened Gallery Streetwear
Gallery Streetwear is my passion project turned full-time mission. After more than 35 years immersed in skateboarding and street culture, I wanted to create a true Tier-1 boutique experience in downtown Kelowna — not a mall version of streetwear, a real one.
Gallery focuses on clothing, footwear, and accessories with meaning behind them — brands connected to skateboarding, creativity, and global culture. Customers looking for curated sneakers can explore the Footwear Collection.
The Brands We Carry
Gallery Streetwear curates brands you won't typically see in large chain stores or generic department-style retailers. Our lineup includes Dime MTL, LOVIAH, Malbon Golf, New Balance, On Running, Saucony Originals, Reebok Classics, Clarks Originals, Cash Only, Magenta, Gramicci, Pleasures, Butter Goods, Jungles Jungles, Victoria HK, Market Studios, b.Eautiful, Carpet Company, Evisen, Manastash, thisisneverthat, Helas, Raised by Wolves, and Adidas Originals.
Many of these brands represent skateboarding, art, music, and independent culture around the world.
A Kelowna Boutique with Real Service
Gallery Streetwear is a small, independent Canadian-owned business. That means the experience is personal. In-store, we help with sizing, styling, and product knowledge that only comes from decades in the culture. Online at gallerystreetwear.ca we focus on clear product descriptions, curated collections, and fast shipping across Canada. The goal is simple: make discovering great clothing and shoes easy.
Community and Culture
Gallery Streetwear exists because of the community that raised us. Skateboarding, snowboarding, art, music, and creativity across the Okanagan are the foundation of everything we do. From Go Skateboarding Day to pop-ups and collaborations with local creatives, Gallery is more than a retail store. If you've pushed down Bernard Avenue on a skateboard or carved turns at Big White, you already understand the culture behind this shop.
What Makes Gallery Different
- Curation first — select drops and hard-to-find styles you won't see in malls.
- Footwear focus — Gallery is as much a sneaker boutique as it is a streetwear shop.
- Quality and longevity — we choose materials and construction that last in real life.
- Real experience — decades in skateboarding and streetwear mean better product choices.
- Local and national — shop in downtown Kelowna or online with shipping across Canada.
Our Goal
Our goal is to build one of Canada's best independent streetwear and sneaker boutiques — both online and in-store. By focusing on authenticity, service, and a refined brand mix, Gallery Streetwear aims to bring global street culture to the Okanagan while serving customers across Canada.
