Running in Kelowna: the terrain
Kelowna gives runners three very different surfaces within a few kilometres of each other. There is flat, fast pavement along the Okanagan Lake waterfront and through downtown. There is the Mission Creek Greenway, a long crushed-gravel and packed-dirt corridor running east through wetland and cottonwood, soft underfoot and mostly gentle, and the default long-run route for a lot of people here. And there is Knox Mountain, where the elevation lives: a steep paved road climb and a network of dry, loose, rocky singletrack above it.
Those three surfaces want different shoes. Pavement rewards cushioning and a smooth roll. The Greenway is forgiving enough that most road shoes cope fine. Knox and the drier trails above it are where an actual trail outsole starts to matter, and where the Okanagan's summer dust and winter wet both punish a shoe that was not built for it.

Fitting and care
Come in and try things on. Running shoe fit varies more between models than between sizes, and there is no way to solve it from a screen. We are at 588 Bernard Avenue and no appointment is needed.
For care: brush off dry dust before it works into the mesh, clean with mild soap and cool water, and air dry away from direct heat. Do not put a GORE-TEX shoe in a dryer. Rotating two pairs makes both last longer, which matters here because Okanagan dust and grit are hard on uppers.
