Gramicci Shorts & Pants Reorder | Gallery Streetwear Canada
The Gramicci Gadget Short and Gadget Pant lineup is restocked at Gallery Streetwear in Kelowna, BC, Canada — with the new Smokey Grey Gadget Short and Japanese Chambray Double Knee Pant joining the reorder. Just in time for Okanagan summer.
This isn't a single-moment drop; it's Gramicci's most consistent category — the climbing-derived shorts and pants that built the brand — coming back into stock across colourways and adding two new pieces to the rotation.
The Climbing Origin and the Gusseted Crotch
Gramicci was founded in 1982 in Ventura, California by climber Mike Graham — one of the original Stonemasters who lived and climbed in Yosemite Valley in the 1970s. Graham designed the original Gramicci climbing short to enable a new style of speed-and-movement climbing: hard-wearing canvas with a diamond-shaped gusset sewn into the crotch for full 180-degree flexibility. The gusset was borrowed from kung-fu pants. The brand name came from a Stonemaster nickname coined during the group's (faux) first all-Italian ascent of Half Dome — none of them were actually Italian.

Why Gramicci Belongs at Gallery
Gallery carries Gramicci alongside Afends and the rest of our outdoor-leaning rotation. The brand sits at the intersection of American climbing heritage and Japanese design discipline — in 2017, Japanese trading house Itochu completed its acquisition of Gramicci's worldwide master license, and the brand's modern production reflects that influence.
For Okanagan customers, the practical case is simple: the shorts handle a hike, a climb at Skaha, a swim at Knox Mountain Park, and the walk home without changing. The double-knee chambray pants do the same for cooler evenings.
Wearing the Restock
The Gadget Short in any colourway pairs cleanly with a heavyweight tee and a pair of On Cloud 6 Geo Waterproof — the waterproof Cloud handles wet trail conditions where canvas shorts shine. The Japanese Chambray Double Knee Pant runs as workwear-adjacent denim alternative for cooler days.
