Antoine Asselin started Dime MTL in Montreal in 2005 and turned it into Canada's most-wanted streetwear brand by refusing to take itself too seriously. The graphics are funny, the drops are fast, the videos (Dime Glory Challenge especially) became culture. Dime MTL is the rare brand that's authentically Canadian, authentically skate, and somehow at the centre of streetwear conversation worldwide.

Dime MTL started in Montreal in 2010. It grew out of the Quebecois skate scene — a tight group of skaters who were serious about both their skating and how they dressed. What began as a small local brand with a strong regional identity became something much bigger: one of the most internationally recognised skate brands in the world, while still maintaining the Montreal cultural DNA that made it matter in the first place.
The brand's aesthetic is built on contradiction — serious about skating, self-deprecating about everything else. Dime's short films are a central part of the brand identity, made with real production value and featuring some of the best street skating on the planet. The clothing follows the same logic: quality construction, unexpected graphics, and a point of view that doesn't take itself too seriously. That combination of craft and humour is rare, and it's why Dime resonates far outside the skate world.
The Dime team — including Arnaud Julien, who has been central to the brand's visual direction since early on — has kept the brand genuinely independent through a decade of growth. Each seasonal drop is tightly controlled in quantity, which is why Dime pieces sell out globally within hours of release. The distribution model is intentional: Dime only authorises a small number of retailers worldwide, and being one of them is not a given.
