New Balance Women's 574 Cow Print – Black with Linen

The New Balance 574 in cow print — black and cream calf hair laid over the 1988 silhouette, with a black suede N and a black ENCAP midsole holding it together. New Balance lists the colourway as Black with Linen, but nobody calls it that. It is the cow print 574.
This is not a quiet shoe. The panels are real haircalf, so the pattern has direction and sheen and shifts depending on how the light hits it — photographs do not entirely do it justice. If you want a 574 that disappears into an outfit, buy the black one. This is the other kind.
Details
- Black and cream calf hair upper in a cow print, with suede and mesh panelling
- ENCAP midsole — an EVA foam core wrapped in a polyurethane rim, the same construction the 574 launched with in 1988
- Black suede N logo and black midsole stripe
- Durable rubber outsole
- Women's B width, US sizing 5–10
- Style code: W574PH
Questions we get asked
Is the New Balance 574 cow print real calf hair?
Yes — the printed panels are haircalf, not a printed synthetic. That is why the pattern has a nap to it and catches the light. It also means it wants slightly more care than a plain suede 574.
Does the cow print 574 run true to size?
Yes. The 574 is reliably true to size. Take your normal women's size. It runs a touch wider than a 9060.
How do I clean cow print calf hair sneakers?
Brush with the nap using a soft suede or horsehair brush — never against it. Spot clean with a barely damp cloth and let them dry away from heat. A suede and nubuck protector before first wear is worth it in an Okanagan winter.
What do you wear cow print sneakers with?
Treat them as the loud piece and keep everything else plain — straight denim, black, cream, washed olive. They read as black-and-white, so they sit with more than people expect.
Is cow print still in?
It has stopped being a trend and settled into being a staple animal print, the way leopard did. This is the version people ask for by name.
Availability
In stock now at Gallery Streetwear, 588 Bernard Avenue, Kelowna, BC. Women's 5 through 10, one pair per size — when a size goes, it is gone. Try them on seven days a week, or order online with free Canadian shipping over $150.
New Balance fits true to size across most lifestyle models. The 9060, 990, and 2002 series have a slightly roomier toe box — size down half if you prefer a snug fit. If between sizes, size up half.
Wipe the upper with a damp cloth or soft brush after each wear. For mesh or knit uppers, use a dedicated sneaker cleaner and a soft brush. Air dry only — do not machine wash or tumble dry. Rotate your pairs to extend the life of each shoe.
