Spitfire is an independent UK eyewear label with a long relationship to British skate and music culture, and a design language that swings between retro-futurist, Y2K and straight classic depending on the season. The part that matters day to day is quieter than the looks: the frames are made properly.
Across the range, Spitfire builds with optical-grade cellulose acetate or metal, runs premium nylon lenses with an anti-reflective coating, and specifies full UVA/UVB protection as standard. Acetate is hand-cut and hand-polished, hypoallergenic, lightweight and made from a renewable material. Most frames arrive with a Spitfire case and a cleaning cloth or microfiber pouch, which is the difference between a pair that lasts a season and a pair that lasts years.

- Spitfire Cut Fifteen — black cellulose acetate, cut from block and hand-polished, with anti-reflective nylon lenses and full UV protection. Teflon-coated screws and double barrel hinges. This is the deepest-stocked frame we carry and the easiest first Spitfire.
- Spitfire Cut 137 — a bold, curved, chunky build in black, cellulose block acetate blended with nylon. Anti-reflective with full UV protection. The one to reach for if you want the glasses to be the loudest thing you are wearing.
- Spitfire Cut 117 — oversized black acetate with purple lenses. Substantial on the face, real presence, still an everyday frame underneath.
- Spitfire Cut 118 — a clean acetate frame carrying the CUT series proportions. Reads considered rather than loud.
- Spitfire Cut 108 — black, straightforward, no argument with anything in your wardrobe.
Tortoise shell and warm tones
- Spitfire Cut 114 — tortoise shell cellulose acetate, handmade from optical-grade acetate that is hypoallergenic and more sustainably produced, with anti-reflective lenses and full UV protection. The most versatile frame on this page.

How to Choose, Without Trying Them On
Three questions get most people to the right frame. How much face do you want covered — Cut 137, Cut 117 and Cut Fifty Five sit at the larger end, Cut Fifteen and Cut 118 at the more conservative end. How warm is your wardrobe — black acetate disappears into anything, tortoise and caramel sit better against earth tones and denim. And how hard is the frame going to live — metal frames like the Jodrell are lighter but less forgiving of being sat on than a chunky acetate.
If you are in Kelowna, skip all of that and come try them. Trying on eyewear is the one thing the internet still does badly.
