The Polar story
Polar Skate Co was founded by Pontus Alv in 2011 in Malmö, Sweden. Alv came up through European skateboarding — Cliché Skateboards, then Polar's launch alongside the cult In Search of the Miraculous video — and the brand's look reflects it: Scandinavian restraint cut with underground punk-flyer graphics. It reads art-directed rather than marketed, which is most of why it has lasted. Alv also launched Last Resort AB in 2020; both brands are based in Malmö.
The Big Boy
The Big Boy is Polar's hallmark silhouette — wide-leg, relaxed, cut with room through the hip and thigh to actually skate in, and one of the most worn denim and pant cuts in modern skateboarding. We have it in Dark Blue in both the pant and the short. The 91 Pant is the closer-cut alternative.
Polar sizing in Canada
We do not publish our own Polar sizing rule. The Big Boy is cut generously by design, but how that lands on you is not something a blanket rule reliably answers, so we are not going to publish one. Use the measurements in our size guide, or come in to 588 Bernard Ave, Kelowna BC and we will fit you. Email or call and we will lay a specific pair flat and measure the waist and inseam.
