The Hierro is New Balance's trail line, and the GORE-TEX version is the one that matters in the Okanagan. Shoulder season here means wet single-track, snowmelt and creek crossings well into spring, and a waterproof membrane is the difference between a run and a cold walk home.
Underfoot it runs dual-density Fresh Foam X — a softer layer nearer the foot, a firmer base beneath it for stability on loose ground. This colourway is a muted mauve with citron green and olive accents, which is a long way from the usual trail-shoe palette and reads well off the trail too.

Yes — GORE-TEX membrane, wind and water blocking, still breathable.
