Clarks Originals Shoes

Since 1825 — Street, Somerset, England. Clarks Originals: the Wallabee, Desert Boot and Desert Trek as worn by rappers, mods and skaters for 60+ years.

About this collection
Read more about Clarks Originals

Clarks was founded in 1825 in Street, Somerset, England by Cyrus Clark — who started by making rugs from sheepskins. In 1828 his younger brother James Clark joined as an apprentice and innovated the use of sheepskin offcuts as slippers. The Originals line carries the heritage division.

Signature: the Wallabee (production began 1967), the Desert Boot (designed 1949 by Nathan Clark, inspired by suede boots he saw being made for British Army officers in Cairo's Khan el-Khalili bazaar), and the Desert Trek — crepe-soled, soft-suede shoes adopted by Jamaican rude boys, Wu-Tang Clan, Northern Soul dancers and modern skaters.

Gallery carries Clarks Originals alongside New Balance, Saucony, On Running and Last Resort AB in our footwear rotation — shipped from Kelowna across Canada.
