Saucony Originals Canada — Jazz 81, Shadow 6000, ProGrid
Saucony is the heritage runner brand that quietly dropped some of the cleanest sneakers of the past five years. The Jazz Original from 1981 is a cult classic — 80s running silhouette, suede and nylon upper, gum sole. The Shadow 6000 from 1991 has become the silhouette serious sneaker shoppers reach for when they're done with what everyone else is wearing. ProGrid Omni 9 has its own moment.
Gallery stocks the Saucony silhouettes that actually deserve floor space — Jazz, Shadow, ProGrid Omni, Grid Azura, the occasional collab piece. Free shipping in Canada over $175. Try them in our Kelowna store. Sized true to running-shoe sizing — most customers go their standard length.
Saucony Originals in Canada — Jazz 81, Shadow 6000 & ProGrid
Saucony has been making running shoes in Boston since 1898 — longer than almost every major athletic brand on the shelf. What makes Saucony worth paying attention to in 2026 is the Saucony Originals line — the heritage side of the house where the Jazz 81, Shadow 6000, and ProGrid archive silhouettes are reissued with proper materials, proper colourways, and prices that haven't been hype-inflated.
Gallery Streetwear carries Saucony Originals in Canada, online and in our Kelowna store. Below is the current lineup and what to know about each silhouette.
Jazz 81 — the perfect 80s runner
The Jazz 81 was Saucony's first real runner and is now one of the cleanest, most underrated low-profile silhouettes you can buy. Slim last, leather-and-nylon upper, wedge midsole. Sits somewhere between a New Balance 574 and an Adidas Gazelle but with a lower profile than either. Pairs cleanly with denim, track pants, or Gramicci shorts.
Shadow 6000 — the Jay-Z pick
The Shadow 6000 was originally a 1991 running shoe — Saucony's premium cushioned model — and has been reissued with careful attention to the original materials. The Shadow is the model Jay-Z wore on the cover of Reasonable Doubt, and that association has stuck in streetwear for thirty years. Chunky-but-not-oversized, sits beautifully with baggy denim or wide-leg chinos.
ProGrid Omni 9 — archival tech
The ProGrid Omni 9 is Saucony's premier archival runner — grid cushioning under the heel, premium mesh and leather upper. Aimé Leon Dore and Bodega collaborations have pushed this silhouette back into the streetwear conversation. Runs slightly larger — consider half size down.
Triumph & Endorphin — the performance side
If you actually want to run, Saucony's Triumph (neutral daily trainer) and Endorphin Speed / Pro (tempo and race day) are among the most well-reviewed performance shoes of the last three years. PWRRUN PB foam, carbon plate on the Endorphin Pro. If you're training for something in 2026, these should be on your shortlist.
Saucony sizing in Canada

- ProGrid Omni 9 — runs a half size large. Consider going down half a size.
- Triumph, Endorphin — stay true to your running shoe size.
Styling Saucony
Jazz 81 sits perfectly with Gramicci G-Pants, Dime MTL chinos, or slim denim. Shadow 6000 pairs with Polar Skate Co baggy denim or Butter Goods for a 90s-runner look.
