Gramicci began in 1980s Yosemite, where climber Mike Graham built pants and shorts that would let a body move through positions ordinary sportswear would not allow. Two features came out of that: the diamond gusset at the crotch, which removes the four-seam junction that binds when you high-step, and the integrated nylon webbing belt, which holds a waist without a buckle sitting under a harness.

The G-Short is the short version of that original pattern and it has not fundamentally changed. It is cut from 100% organic cotton twill with a flex-fit elastic waistband, reinforced lock stitching at the stress points, deep front pockets and secure rear pockets, on a 9 to 10 inch inseam. Smokey Grey is a muted mid-grey that reads as a neutral.
