Color Bars was launched in Los Angeles in 2018 by Andy Netkin, co-founder of Primitive Skateboards, and his wife Elisabetta. The whole business is officially licensed pop-culture collaboration — which sounds dry until you see what they've cleared: the estate of Ol' Dirty Bastard for the 30th anniversary of Return to the 36 Chambers, Britney Spears, David Bowie, Aaliyah, Playboy x Andy Warhol, Boyz N the Hood. Estate-approved, properly licensed, and produced in runs that finish and don't come back.
