Parra

by Parra is the clothing label of Pieter “Parra” Janssen, the Amsterdam artist and graphic designer who came up making posters and flyers for the city's music and skate scene in the 1990s. He started his first label, Rockwell, in 2002, and launched by Parra in 2006 — the point at which the beaked figures, curved bodies and hand-drawn type that define his work moved onto clothing. The prints are his own artwork. That is the whole proposition, and it is why the brand reads differently to everything around it.
